I was born in Limestone County and proud to call it my home. I am a 1977 graduate of Jacksonville State University in education. My master degree was completed at Jacksonville State in 1981 in physical education. I completed my administration certification at the University of North Alabama in 1989. I have my AA is from Alabama A&M University in administration and supervision. I am married to Laura Witt Black, who teaches 1st grade at Creekside Elementary. We have a daughter, Anna, a freshman at "The University of Alabama". Our son, Witt, is in the 10th grade at East Limestone. This begins my 34th year at East Limestone High School. During my career at East Limestone I have coached baseball, football, basketball while teaching history and physical education. I have worked as a teacher for 12 years, the assistant principal/athletic director for 12 years before having the opportunity to be the principal for the past 9 years.
