Juniors should begin taking the ACT and plan to take it several times between now and the fall of their senior year.  Applications are in the counseling office, or students can apply online at www.actstudent.org.

Community service has become an important deciding factor for many scholarships.  If your son or daughter has not been involved in any type of community service, please make sure he or she begins giving back to the community in some way.  Make sure to document service hours, regardless of how menial they may seem.  Scholarship providers want to see that students are developing compassion for others and are able to translate that compassion into action.
