2012-2013 LCS Principals of the Year

The Limestone County School System is proud to announce that Mrs. Cleo Miller, Principal of Owens Elementary School, and Mr. Billy Owens, Principal of Tanner High School have been named the Limestone County Schools System Level Principals of the Year for 2012-2013. 

 

Mrs. Miller is a veteran instructional leader with integrity, honor, and dedication.  She has high expectations for her staff, students, and school and is constantly researching and implementing new strategies to help students achieve. Her latest accolade is Owens Elementary being selected by the ACT corporation to pilot the new ASPIRE assessment, which may evolve into the states accountability measurement. She and the faculty welcome this opportunity to see how the Owens Elementary students compare against students all over the nation. 

 

Mr. Billy Owens shares the county's commitment to raising standards for students and is living out that goal with his innovative programs and strong leadership through active and full participation in the implementation of Learning Focused Strategies. Mr. Owens is a veteran administrator and a former state champion basketball coach.  He knows what it takes to produce a state championship team and has demonstrated his support to the athletes of Tanner High School through two state championships this year. 

 

Limestone County Schools wish Mrs. Miller and Mr. Owens the best as they compete with other district nominees in the state.
