East Limestone High School is one of 29 schools selected for this project and Mrs. Daly had 13 students to participate in the event on May 18th.  They collected plant leaves, identified the scientific name, record GPS location and took pictures to send in to HudsonAlpha for DNA testing.  They will collect again in the fall.  A representative from the land trust in Huntsville met with them at Matthew's Nature Preserve to assist and take pictures. This is real research that will be documented and published on the web about our native plants species found in Alabama.  What a great opportunity for our students! Thank you Mrs. Daly!
