Kayla Sneed signs Scholarship
Monday, February 08, 2010

The recent success of Wallace State's softball team speaks for itself.

Since Jayne Clem took over the program several years ago, the Lady Lions have won a national championship, finished runner-up in 2009, won three consecutive Alabama Community College conference, state and region championships and four consecutive North Division championships.

All that success was enough to lure East Limestone's Kayla Sneed there to continue her softball career.

"Success was a big factor," Sneed said at a school signing in front of friends and family Tuesday morning. "I really liked the atmosphere there. It felt like home."

Clem put the final touches on the 2011 Lady Lions last Sunday by having 14 commitments sign, including Sneed at a ceremony on the Hanceville campus.

"This is one of the most talented groups I've signed," Clem, a Limestone County resident, said. "We've got four pitchers, and lots of hitters and speed. They rival our top recruiting class since I've been at Wallace."
