AP Literature and Language Summer Reading

Summer Reading

AP Literature - Everyone is required to read and annotate two books.  They have one required read and a list from which to choose a novel.  We will test, write, and complete assignments with them during the first week of school.  The required read is "How to Read Literature Like a Professor" by Thomas C. Foster.  For the second choice, students may choose one: "The Fellowship of the Ring" by J.R.R. Tolkien, "Price and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien, or "Wide Sargasso Sea" by Jean Rhys.

AP Language - Choose one:  "Hiroshima" by John Hersey, "All Over but the Shoutin'" by Rick Bragg, or "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey.  We will test, write, and complete assignments with these the first week of school.
